President Obama, I understand that you find the alleged actions of the rogue ACORN workers inappropriate. Personally I find them criminal, but here are a few things I do find inappropriate.

I find it inappropriate that you have abandoned your promise to not raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000 and can do so with seemingly no shame. By the way, I think if you would ask most people, they would agree with George Stehanopoulos that forcing someone to buy insurance or be penalized is a tax, and that is just one of many I am hearing proposed.

I find it inappropriate that you would show up on five different news programs this morning yet manage to snub the one that doesn’t fawn over your every word. I find it even more inappropriate for you to spend an hour on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday. Don’t you have things you need to be doing?

I find it inappropriate that you don’t pay enough attention to what is going on in this country that you aren’t even aware that ACORN is getting millions of tax payer dollars but with no information about the situation you are willing to call the Police officers at Harvard stupid when they are doing their job, just because it was one of your buddies that was arrested.

President Obama, I really feel you need to keep your happy butt at home and do the job we hired you to do and keep your hands out of our wallets.

But, that’s just My Arrogant Opinion

In the recent unprecedented address to the joint House of Congress, President Obama was heckled by Congressman Joe Wilson. Obama was assuring the world that his plan would not cover illegal aliens when Congressman Wilson could no longer stand it and he shouted out, “You lie!”

While shouting down the President may have demonstrated a lack of decorum in this august body, it was what many people in this country felt in their hearts.

The amazing thing to me though, was not the heckling, which I do regularly during the news every evening when I hear lies like this. The amazing thing was the look on Speaker Pelosi’s face when she heard him shout. It was priceless and something I know I will cherish for some time to come.

Personally, I would like to see more of our representatives in Washington standing up for what we believe and worrying less about what others think of it. After all, part of their job is to act as a check on the powers of the Executive Branch, and that means keeping the President honest.

But that’s just My Arrogant Opinion

Since Obama took office in January of this year, it has been one crisis after another. We know that the stated policy of the White House is to not let a good crisis go to waste, so my question is whether or not they are trying to keep the kettle stirred up.

It seems that everything that comes out of the White House is calculated to create a disturbance. Nothing it seems has the ring of business as usual. Obama has been flying all across the country to try to push this Health Care Reform, or Insurance Reform, or whatever it is supposed to be this week. Now he is threatening to force through a health care reform plan that bypasses the Republicans entirely. Smart move! Let’s just tell the country to take a long walk off a short pier why don’t we?

Cash for Clunkers, at this writing, only about 5% of the payouts have been made to the car dealers who participated, which threatens many dealerships with bankruptcy since they had to front the money in the first place. Wouldn’t that be a pip? Obama protects the manufacturers he bailed out with our money yet allows the ones who did the leg work to take a bullet for the administration. Thanks guys!

There just seems to be too much going on that has people stirred up, and that makes me smell a rat somewhere. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain…

But that’s just My Arrogant Opinion

There is nothing that we Americans love more than being told what we can and cannot do, where we have to buy things and what we can buy. Or, maybe I have us confused with someone else. I am still seething! My health insurance carrier has decided it can save money by forcing me to buy my scripts from them by mail order.

Personally, I don’t have anything against mail order pharmacies, but I do take exception to being told that this is what I HAVE to do, or the insurance company will not pay. Well, I understand that some of the medications I am on are pretty expensive, but it is a situation where the insurance company wants me to front the money for a 3 month supply of my medication (Plavix is one of them) and they will fill the script and mail it to me.

But wait a minute! Buying prescriptions in 90 day supplies is cheaper isn’t it? Why, yes it is! However, when you are struggling to pay for all your medicines (I take 13 different drugs a day) it becomes impossible to pony up for 90 day supplies all of a sudden. Last week, when I found that the insurance company had ceased to cover my prescriptions and the total amount due for the few that I was getting refilled was over $500, I had to cancel the prescription refills.

Not only am I having to do without drugs designed to help keep me alive, but against all logic, I still have to pay for my prescription coverage as a part of my health insurance plan. I feel as though my insurance company is stealing money from me. In fact, it has the smell of some sort of extortion racket from where I sit.

In addition to everything else, I don’t have access to a pharmacist like I would if I were dealing locally, and I am also forced to give this outfit a credit card number for them to charge my medicines to when they send them. This at a time when credit is tightening up all over the country. Would they have me die from not getting my medicine if my credit card was declined?

Well, we are doing everything we can to get all of our meds changed to the ones on the discount list at Wal-mart. That pisses me off too, I am being forced to change my pharmacy because my insurance company is trying to control my life. People, this is where we are headed in this country with nationalized health care. The government is going to be telling us what we can have, where we can get it, and when it is available.

I was reminded today of something I read in the London Telegraph a few weeks ago. The Brits, Lord love ‘em, have a law requiring patients going to the emergency room to be seen within, I believe it was 4 hours from the time they entered the ER. That is the government, concerned over wait times for sick people. The problem though, is a bit bigger than that.

You see, in order to meet the time requirements, patients would be left outside in the ambulance for up to 6 hours before being taken inside for the clock to start on the ER staff. Kind of reminds me of waiting in a line for an hour or so, only to get to the window just as the clerk was going to lunch. At any rate, this is the type of top notch service we can expect if Hillary gets her way and we end up with National Health Care.

Obviously, no one in government has ever taken a college level course in economics. If everyone is paying for health care through their taxes, there are no barriers to demand. Demand becomes infinite. There aren’t enough Doctors or Hospitals in a healthy system to take care of an infinite number of patients, much less one that has been artificially stripped to its barest minimum through legislation.

When the government starts setting prices for medical procedures and surgeries, Doctors and clinics will move into some other business that is not restricting their ability to make a profit (living). As the pool of resources shrinks and prices are controlled by regulation, rationing is the next logical step that has to be made. The government will then be in a position to determine whether or not your life is worth the effort to save. Is she too old? What kind of benefit will he bring to society if we allow this procedure? There will be charts and statistics to tell health care workers whether or not to provide you with health care.

This is fairly simple economics, and something we all need to be aware of when we enter the voting booth in November.
